Master laparoscopy through play, from basics to full procedures.

In Laptitude: Curious Cases, you learn key laparoscopic instrument handling skills in a series of fun games. Laptitude teaches you every skill you need for the FLS manual skills exam. Start with the basics, such as positioning your instruments, and progress to more advanced techniques like suturing and knot tying. With adaptive difficulty, the game grows with you.

Take your skills a step further with Skill Drills, where you can practice individual procedural steps. In the clipping exercise, you’ll have to clip the cystic duct and cystic artery in various challenging configurations. Starting with a common configuration where it is easy to identify and clip the cystic duct and artery, advancing to situations where there’s little space for clipping and where the gallbladder has to be positioned to identify and provide vision of the surgical field. In the dissection drill, you’ll refine your technique by grasping the liver and removing adhesions to expose the gallbladder. These adhesions can form between the gallbladder and surrounding structures, such as the greater omentum, duodenum, or stomach. Our generative AI-driven organ models create realistic anatomical variations, allowing you to practice with varied anatomy and disease severity.

This autumn, we’re introducing Procedures, allowing you to practice full simulated procedures. We start with cholecystectomy and appendectomy, followed by gynaecology later on. With your membership you also receive all future updates to all software. As we release new procedures and procedural steps, you’ll be the first to try them out.

Frequently asked questions

What skills will I learn using Laptitude?

Laptitude trains essential laparoscopic skills, including positioning, grasping, transferring, ligation, dissecting, cutting, and suturing. Through structured mini-games and adaptive challenges, you’ll improve precision, motion efficiency, ambidexterity, hand-eye coordination, and situational awareness—critical for real-world surgical performance. After learning individual skills, you’ll learn to apply these in isolated procedural steps before you move on to full simulated procedures.

Your order includes access to Laptitude: Curious Cases for a duration of your choosing, the Laptitude base station, two pistol grip controllers, one needle holder, a USB-C cable and a mobile phone holder. With your software subscription you’ll also receive direct access to Skill Drills and Procedures upon release. Skill Drills focuses on training isolated procedural steps in different anatomical configurations. This will prepare you for full procedures.

Units will begin shipping on June 1st, 2025. Delivery times may vary based on location, but you’ll receive a tracking link once your order is dispatched.
